Let us dedicate the New Year to environment protection.............

The year 2015 ends and the new year starts,
But the same message rings in all peoples' hearts.
Time flies, calendar rolls and date changes,
Water continues to flow through the Ganges.
Issues still burn and concerns still remain,
And we continue to endure that nagging pain,
While still hankering after crass commercial gain.
It's time to reflect upon our living approach,
Our basic fundamentals we need to broach.
Our planet is in a bad shape and reasons we know,
Unmitigated pollution, global warming and El- Nino.
Nature is all powerful; no mercy it will show,
Our castles and mansions it will quickly blow.
Tornadoes, floods, wildfires and extremes of climate,
Are a daily warning of humanity's impending fate.
We should change  paradigms, before nature we should bow,
In commercial pursuits we need to go slow.
Humans should be more humanistic, less materialistic,
To our everyday lives this principle should stick.
Let us dedicate 2016 to environment protection,
And make the earth better for our next generation.
